Combining keen insight with years of research, Denise inspires survivors to heal from their past and embrace their future. Her book, "It’s Not Over When You Leave: 7 Truths of Domestic Violence" will be available on Amazon.
For almost two decades, Denise has served as an advocate for survivors of domestic violence and their children.
She is a member of the Ohio Domestic Violence Network Interfaith Task Force, the Ohio Alliance to End Sexual Violence, Toastmasters International and the National Speakers Association of Ohio.
Denise is a former newspaper reporter and contributor to USA Today.
She graduated Phi Beta Kappa and earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in journalism from the Ohio State University.

Denise's presentation on domestic violence is one that every adult should hear. She combines the traumatic stories of survivors of abuse with the facts everyone should know. Her delivery is caring, compassionate, and straight forward. She provides strategies for abuse victims as well as for people who will encounter a victim of abuse. You will be inspired and enlightened upon hearing this powerful presentation.
I’ve heard Denise speak at multiple collegiate events at Ohio State. She does an amazing job of connecting domestic violence to people my age. A lot of students don’t think it would ever happen to them but she shows us that domestic violence can start at a young age.
Denise is a genuine speaker. I’ve heard her speak numerous times and each time you could hear a pin drop in the room. She educates women from all walks of life about domestic violence.
This was an enlightening presentation by Denise. It’s an important issue and I’m hoping that after listening to her speak people will be encouraged to either get help themselves or help others.
